All we need is Charlotte!
As it was mentioned already, Charlotte Riley will play a fellow soldier fighting alongside Cruise and Blunt in All you need is kill and there are finally some pics from the set floating around, unfortunately no Charlotte in sight just yet, but Emily was so kind to contribute to this lil manip to get over the nagging waiting period.
Charlotte in military gear is quite a change in costume for her and I’m rather excited about it, so let’s hope that we get our hands on some real evidence of her on set quite soon.
edit: 2nd version, found a better fitting head for the manip

THE SUN | The world at her feet
Charlotte Riley opens up to TV Magazine about her superstar fiance Tom Hardy and her role in new period drama World Without End
SHE’S gorgeous, engaged to brooding Hollywood actor Tom Hardy and refreshingly down to earth. And if Charlotte Riley didn’t have enough going for her already, she is also about to become one of the most talked-about actresses of the year.
While the star from Teeside has already graced our screens in everything from Holby City to ITV drama The Town, her starring role in medieval mini-series World Without End – C4’s biggest show of the new year – will really put her on the map. “I play Caris, a strong-minded young woman who wants more from life than marriage,” reveals Charlotte as we meet over a cuppa in London’s Soho. “The drama begins in 1327 in the English village of Kingsbridge and it’s a big ensemble piece about King, Queen and Country.” While Caris isn’t interested in settling down, she does have an admirer in childhood friend Merthin (Tom Weston-Jones). And there is one particular love scene they filmed which still makes Charlotte cringe. “I wasn’t very well when we did it so I was like: ‘Get me out of here because I’m going to puke on poor, naked Tom,’” laughs Charlotte, 31, with her head in her hands. “Those scenes are never romantic anyway, but feeling sick isn’t ideal.” […]
Charlotte spent six months in Hungary, Austria and Slovakia filming the series, which is a sequel to 2010 TV series The Pillars Of The Earth, miles away from her actor fiance Tom. Was that hard on their relationship? “No, we just make it work,” she smiles. “It’s a mixture of Skype and emails.”
The couple got engaged in 2010 but Tom, 35, has joked that a date hasn’t been set as Charlotte is a “difficult woman to pin down”. “That’s not true at all,” she laughs. “He’s a cheeky bugger. We are desperate to do it, but I’ll never have a celebrity wedding. It will be low-key with family and friends. I really want kids too, but that will happen when it happens.” Cruise in control Charlotte and Tom met playing lovers Cathy and Heathcliff in ITV’s 2009 adaptation of Wuthering Heights and, later that year, also co-starred in Sky1’s The Take.
They almost shared the screen yet again in The Dark Knight Rises as Charlotte auditioned for the role of Catwoman, which went to Anne Hathaway. “I wasn’t gutted – it’s part of acting to not get stuff,” Charlotte reasons. “If you are not right for the part, you’re not right.” Not that she needs to worry about the roles that got away.
Next up, she’s starring in a big-budget action flick, All You Need Is Kill, with none other than Tom Cruise. “Tom is the nicest guy,” she reveals. “The enthusiasm he has on set is totally infectious. He motivated everyone, keeping us on time. I even met his daughter Suri. She came on set and brought everyone cupcakes so I let her pick which one I got. She’s a very gorgeous little girl.”
Now she’s making big movies with even bigger names, does that mean Charlotte has conquering Hollywood firmly in her sights? “I can’t ever see myself moving to LA,” she admits, looking uncomfortable at the thought. “I don’t really have a big future plan, I just pick roles that I find interesting. It sounds naff but I just try to live in the moment.”

Caris & Merthin
fabulouscharlotteriley:

The Teeside‐born actress identified with Renton, the fictional setting for The Town.

“Middlesbrough is very much like that for me. It’s the place that you absolutely love because it’s home. But it’s the place that, for some people, you need to grow and move on from and have different experiences and then come back to it. I think that’s the case for a lot of people, where you need to go and experience different places, different towns, different countries. And I think it’s nice because then you get to come home and really appreciate home for what it is.”

London-based Charlotte agrees that there is no right or wrong about leaving your home town or deciding to stay put.

“I have a few friends who came to London, had a student life there, stayed for a couple of years and then went back home. It’s whatever suits you. For me, living in London is necessary for my job. While other friends get more value out of their jobs and time by living in Middlesbrough and they absolutely love it. I know people who still drink in the same pubs and go to the same places every week. And I still go to the same places when I go home.”

One scene sees Alice singing Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ in their local pub.

“When I first read the script that was the scene I loved most because of the dialogue and how free they are with each other. It’s just a really beautiful scene. But at the same time the singing was going to make it one of the scenes that I was dreading doing. People don’t just break into song in real life and I had to find a fun way of doing it where it wasn’t like, ‘And now I’m singing a song.’ That was quite a nice challenge. Andrew and I had a good laugh with it. I was so nervous that I kept forgetting some of the lines. So we managed that by Andrew’s character joining in a little bit. Any time I forgot the lines he’d be there singing along a little with me!”

Charlotte already has some musical experience via her group The Flirtinis.

“The Flirtinis are very much me and my girlfriends, just a bit of a hobby that we have when we get together now and again, whenever we’re all in the same country. Two of the Flirtinis are American, one of them lives in LA and the other one lives here and in America. But when we’re all together we have a little sing song.”

Metro UK Interview | Charlotte Riley: I had a boob double for World Without End groping scene
Charlotte Riley talks about training for her new movie All You Need Is Kill and being groped by Rupert Evans in forthcoming TV drama World Without End.
She may be headed for film stardom but Charlotte Riley hasn’t let it go to her head. She likes nothing more than bantering about her work with her bloke. ‘At least when he gets home now, moaning about his back or his knee hurting, I can tell him to put a sock in it because I’m hurting too,’ she laughs.
The ‘he’ in question is Tom Hardy, Riley’s fiancé for the best part of three years. They met in 2008, she was Cathy to his Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights for ITV, following up with roles in Martina Cole’s crime thriller The Take on Sky, which looked set to propel them to stardom. But while Hardy’s stock rose, Riley has had to wait a touch longer.
Now, though, she’s filming sci-fi blockbuster All You Need Is Kill alongside Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. Directed by Doug Liman, it’s based on a Japanese graphic novel and Riley’s role has seen her subjected to a gruelling physical regime that’s the equal of anything Hardy pulled off for the likes of Warrior.

‘I’m doing thousands of sit-ups a day,’ she grimaces. ‘I can’t say too much – they’ve sworn us to secrecy – but it’s the most physical thing I’ve ever done. We’re on a filming break but I’m climbing the walls at home – literally – getting plates off the top shelf, so I stay in shape. Tom used to come in talking about Hong Kong harnesses and I’d give him a funny look but I know what he’s on about now.’

A Hong Kong harness is, I’m assured, a physical training device. The fact that Riley is happy to make easy references to her settled home life with Hardy comes across as charming and unaffected, not a lame attempt at keeping it real. It’s clear her family, based around Middlesbrough, wouldn’t let her get away with any diva nonsense.
She looks surprised, but happily so, when I say she mentions her dad a lot. Riley peppers her conversation with family references. ‘I suppose I do, I go back there a lot,’ she says. ‘They’re proud of me but they don’t let me get away with myself.

‘My dad was most impressed when he found out who was going to be in World Without End. He said: “You’re going to be in a scene with Queenie!”’ To non-Blackadder fans, that’s Miranda Richardson.
